MessaggioTitolo: 1999 492 turn light and horn won't work   Ven Set 06, 2013 9:52 pm

Hi!

I just bought a 1999 492 EN and imported it to Canada.

The bike runs great. Most parts are just like new.
The only problem that I have is that the horn and the turnlight don't work.

I had a look into the turnlight relay and it was completely rotten.
I replaced it by a new one and I realized that there could be something wrong with the wiring.

With the old and now also with the new turn light relay the cables are conected the following way.

input 49 yellow cable
input 49a yellow green cable
input 31 orange cable (goes to the turn lights switch)

According to all the documentation for other motorcycle the connections should look like

input 49 yellow cable
input 49a orange cable (goes to the turn lights switch)
input 31 yellow green cable

Is ther somebody who has a 492 with turnlights and horn?
Are there schematics for the 492?
I found a schematic for the 503 but it has a fuse and I can't figure out how to the horn and it's rectifier sould be hooked up corretly.

thanks for any help or pictures!

How do you test those ac based bikes? Mine has no battery and it is more or less impossible to fire it up and reach the connections close to the hot header pipes of the exhaust....

By the way. Is there any bigger gas tank for the 1999 492?

Thanks again to Italy!
Sebastian
